Chicago's Asllani named WPS Player of Week

06/03/2010 - Bridgeview, IL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Chicago Red Stars forward Kosovare Asllani was named Women's Professional Soccer Player of the Week for Week 7.

Asllani lifted the Red Stars to their second win this season,1-0 over first- place FC Gold Pride on Saturday at Toyota Park. Asllani, 20, scored her first WPS goal in the 56th minute.

Asllani is the third Red Stars player to win the weekly honor. Former Chicago forward Lindsay Tarpley won twice last season, in Weeks 15 and 19, and Brazil forward Cristiane won in Week 16 last season.
